Board of Commissioners Meeting

At its Board of Commissioners Meeting, the Agency awarded a contract to Beyer Blinder Belle to provide architectural and engineering services for Phases II and III of the planned stabilization. Phase II will be the larger phase and include installation of a temporary roof, structural work, exterior lighting and other miscellaneous duties, Phase III will include masonry repairs. Also at this meeting the Board authorized a contract with Dresdner Robin to remove two piles of dirt, approximately 340 tons of hazardous soil to an appropriate facility and 50 tons of non-hazardous soil to another location in Jersey City. Dresdner Robin will oversee all activities and ensure that all tasks are performed in accordance with NJ Department of Environmental Protection regulations.

The Jersey City Redevelopment Agency announced that the much anticipated inspection of the Powerhouse smokestacks was started today by Vertical Access, a group that specializes in engineering studies for areas that are difficult to access. Read More>>
